Welcome to the web site for the Churches of St. Andrew's
and St. Peter's the Episcopal Church in Ardrossan, Irvine and Dalry. This forms the North
Ayrshire Team Ministry of the Scottish Episcopal Church, part of the Diocese of Glasgow
and Galloway. Please feel free to sign up for our Newsletter (hopefully weekly) to keep you up to date on what's happening in our Church.
St Andrew's, Ardrossan welcomes the congregation of Barony St John's"We are pilgrims on a journey, fellow
travellers on the road; we are here to help each other walk the mile and bear the
load." Words of the hymn "Brother, sister, let me serve you" by Richard
Gillard, and words which are particularly important to those of us in Ardrossan right now.
It`s always wonderful to offer a little Christian help and hospitality to people in need.
And that`s just what we have done at St Andrew`s Ardrossan. At the beginning of a New Year
we see the birth of a new venture on our journey. From Sunday 1st January 2012 the
congregation of Barony St John`s Church of Scotland, Ardrossan will worship at St Andrew`s
until their own building has been repaired. It does mean, however, that our own service at
Ardrossan will now start at 11.30am. Over the past few months Sandy, Ian and I, have found
time very short between taking the service at Irvine and getting to Ardrossan for 11.15am.
So this arrangement also means that we won`t have to rush off from Irvine so soon after
the service. I am confident that we can provide a warm welcome to our friends and fellow
travellers, and hope our journey together will be fruitful not only for us, but for them
too. Remember the opening words of Richard Gillard`s hymn, "Brother, sister, let me
serve you, let me be as Christ to you." Christ came into the world not to be served,
but to serve. Let us, therefore, serve one another in order that we too may be as Christ.
